Legal Protection for Prisoners Against Violence Between Prisoners (Study at Class II Rantauprapat Penitentiary)

This study aims to solve the problems that will be examined, so the aims and objectives of this study are to find out legal protection for prisoners who commit violence between prisoners in the Rantauprapat Class II Correctional Institution, and to find out what efforts are made in the Rantauprapat Class II Penitentiary in supervising the violence committed by prisoners. This type of legal research is a type of empirical legal research, namely a legal research that functions to see the law in a real sense and examines how the law works in the Rantauprapat Class II Penitentiary community environment. Based on the results of the research and discussion that the authors describe, it can be concluded from the results of the study that protection for convicts from criminal acts of violence between inmates in class II Rantauprapat prisons is in the form of imposing sanctions on entering solitary confinement for 12 days and not receiving visits for 15 days, and not get remission rights, parole leave, assimilation, pre-release leave, and parole in the current year. And the efforts made by the Rantauprapat class II prison in monitoring violence committed by inmates are by carrying out preventive and repressive efforts
